The 2001 Stanley Cup Finals saw the defending Champs the New Jersey Devils take on the Ray Bourque inspired Colorado Avalanche. This series would feature a goaltending battle of the ages with Patrick Roy and Martin Brodeur. It was predicted correctly that these two would be statistically the best goaltenders in the history of the game. They were both so good that it took a Game 7 to decide the series. In the end, Ray Bourque ended his 20 year drought and was able to hoist the Stanley Cup for the first and final time.
