The 2004 Stanley Cup Finals was the first final since 1995 to not feature a returning team from a previous Finals. This edition of the battle for Lord Stanley featured the Tampa Bay Lightning in their Stanley Cup debut and the Calgary Flames returned to the finals for the first time since 1989. The younger Tampa Bay Lightning would eventually hoist the Cup as Vincent Lecavlier, Brad Richards and Martin St. Louis all had their coming out party to the NHL.
