The 2016 Stanley Cup Finals would feature the return of Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins, and the debut of the San Jose Sharks led by the likes of Joe Thornton and Patrick Marleau. Unfortunately for the Sharks there was just no stopping Sidney Crosby in 2016 as he was on absolute tear the World Cup earlier that season. So much so that he took home his first Conn Smyth trophy as Playoff MVP.
